Why Fundraising Matters

Did you know? In 93 percent of House races and 94 percent of Senate races in 2008, the candidate who spent the most money won the election, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics.

Every campaign is different, just like every candidate is different.

However, in order to be a successful candidate today – you must be a successful fundraiser. This is, in many ways, non negotiable.

There are very few born natural fundraisers. Most elected officials who are “good” at fundraising aren’t that way because they emerged from their mothers womb asking the nurse for a quarter.
